crappy pictures no more

someone i know got an awesome new camera.  guess who.  guess. guess. guess. guess. guess.

it’s me!  it’s a Pentax Optio a10, and it does a lot of things (not the least of which is super macro… SUPER MACRO!) and is awesome and tiny and it takes pictures like this with minimal effort.

i spun it, yoclick for maximum goodness

the days of me being angry with my picture-taking technologies (or lack thereof) are hopefully gone forever!

the picture is some superwash wool/mohair in a 2ply that’s about worsted weight thick & thin.  144 yards of it and i think it’ll become a scarf some day.  or maybe fingerless gloves.

p.s. to jenny - i have the knitting-pattern-a-day one too, and it’s a million times cooler than the crochet one (as much as i hate to say that cuz i do enjoy crochet).  i need the dragon scale wrist warmer things if i can ever find the right size needles because i know i have them here somewhere.

  1. YAY!!! new camera’s are a good thing. I’m sure you’re gonna get a lot of good close ups with the super Macro!

  2. Holy cow, that is some resolution in that picture. I feel like I could actually reach right into the screen and hug the yarn. You should totally make some fingerless gloves with it…they are the best. Although I need to put new ribbon in mine (they lace up). Someone…and I’m not naming names, but it was a lurkey little girl cat who loves all things string-like…pulled the ribbons out and got them all drooly.
